When the Final Whistle Brings Fear: Domestic Abuse and Football Tournaments.

For millions of people, football tournaments are a celebration. Families gather around television screens, friends meet in pubs, flags are draped from windows, and entire nations become united by a shared sense of hope and excitement. At its best, football brings communities together.

Yet there is a darker side to major football tournaments that receives far less attention. Police forces, domestic abuse charities, and support organisations have repeatedly warned that incidents of domestic abuse increase during major football events. This is not because football itself causes violence. Rather, football can act as a trigger or catalyst for individuals who already possess controlling, aggressive, or abusive tendencies.

The idea that a woman, child, or elderly parent might fear a football match is difficult for many people to comprehend. While supporters celebrate goals and victories, some households experience a very different reality. For them, the outcome of a game can mean heightened tension, intimidation, threats, or violence.

Research and reports from law enforcement agencies have found that domestic abuse incidents can rise following football matches, particularly when emotions are running high. Disappointment after a loss, excessive alcohol consumption, gambling losses, and heightened emotional investment can all contribute to volatile situations. However, these factors should never be viewed as excuses.

Millions of football supporters experience disappointment every week without harming anyone. They may feel frustrated, angry, or upset, but they remain in control of their actions. Violence is a choice. The responsibility lies entirely with the abuser.

One of the most disturbing aspects of this issue is the contradiction it exposes. Football culture often celebrates toughness, strength, resilience, and masculinity. Yet there is nothing strong about terrorising a spouse, partner, elderly parent, or child. There is nothing courageous about intimidating someone who depends on you for safety and protection.

True strength is demonstrated through self-control. True strength is demonstrated by managing disappointment without lashing out. True strength is demonstrated by protecting the vulnerable, not exploiting them.

The victims of domestic abuse are not merely statistics. Behind every police report is a human being whose home has become a place of fear rather than safety. A wife may spend an entire match dreading the final score. A girlfriend may carefully monitor her partner's mood, trying to avoid saying the wrong thing. An elderly mother may find herself subjected to verbal abuse from an adult son whose emotions have spiralled out of control.

And then there are the children.

Children are often the forgotten victims of domestic abuse. Even when they are not physically assaulted themselves, they witness arguments, threats, intimidation, and violence. They hear shouting through walls. They see broken furniture, bruises, tears, and fear.

Many children learn to recognise the warning signs before adults realise anything is wrong. They know when a parent's voice changes. They know when tension enters the room. They know when they should hide in their bedroom or stay silent.

The psychological impact can last a lifetime. Children who grow up in abusive homes often suffer anxiety, depression, difficulties with trust, and problems forming healthy relationships. Some may carry those experiences into adulthood for decades.

Football matches last ninety minutes. The trauma experienced by a child who witnesses domestic abuse can last a lifetime.

This is why public awareness campaigns during major tournaments are so important. They remind society that behind the excitement and spectacle, some people are entering a period of heightened risk. They encourage neighbours, friends, relatives, and colleagues to recognise warning signs and offer support where appropriate.

Equally important is challenging the culture of excuses. Statements such as "he was drunk," "his team lost," or "he got carried away" shift attention away from the real issue. Alcohol does not create an abuser. A football result does not create an abuser. A referee's decision does not create an abuser.

The match is not responsible. The individual who chooses violence is responsible.

Most football supporters are decent people who would be horrified by domestic abuse. They love the game, celebrate responsibly, and return home safely to their families. It is therefore in the interests of genuine football fans to confront this issue rather than deny it. The reputation of the sport is damaged not by those who speak about domestic abuse, but by those who commit it, and by those who ignore it.

As another tournament unfolds and millions prepare to cheer on their teams, it is worth remembering those for whom the final whistle does not signal celebration. For some, it signals relief that another dangerous evening has ended without incident.

No football match is more important than a person's safety. No result is worth a bruise. No trophy is worth a terrified child. And no supporter can claim to be strong while using fear and violence against those who are weaker than themselves.

EVEN THE QUEEN’S BUTLER WAS A PAEDOPHILE.

ImageIf any more proof is needed that the Queen of England surrounds herself with paedophiles, look no further than her butler.

Read more: Buckingham Palace butler ‘ran paedophile sex ring while working for the Royal Family’.

In 1976 Paul Kidd aged 23 at the time, was appointed butler to the Queen at Buckingham Palace and served there for six years until being transferred to Clarence House where he served the Queen Mother.

Bachelor Paul Kidd, groomed at least one of his teenage victims for sex by taking him for tea with the Queen Mother at Clarence House, it has emerged.

To the public, he had been the perfect gent who waited on the Royals for nine years – first the Queen at the Palace and then her mother, but behind the mask, Paul Kidd was leading a secret double life as a serial child abuser who molested a string of boys over a 30 year period.

He admitted 29 sex charges involving three boys and was finally exposed after one of his victims read a newspaper article in which he boasted about his links to the Royals and talked fondly of Princess Diana and her musical tastes.

Police raided his two bedroom home in St Johns Street, Stalybridge, where they found almost 19,000 pornographic pictures and videos of children.

It is only speculation at this time whether pornographic pictures and videos of children being abused were passed onto either the Queen Mother or the Queen, but the probability is high that they were.

A police source said: ‘Kidd was a very accomplished groomer of children.

‘These offences are probably just the tip of the iceberg.’

Kidd had honed his skills as a silver service waiter when he joined the Royal Navy after leaving school – looking after the captain and officers.

During his naval service he visited 22 countries around the world. During his years in Royal service, he was said to have met and looked after three American Presidents including Jimmy Carter and Ronald Regan plus many other Heads of State from around the world.

In 1979 he was awarded the Most Noble Order of Merit by then West German president while on a state visit with the Queen to that country. He is one of only 32 people in the world to hold the award.
He was also said to have worked closely with Princess Diana at Buckingham Palace in the six months prior to her wedding to Prince Charles.

A paedophile loose in the royal household and it isn’t Princes Philip, Andrew or Charles.

In 1985 he gave up Royal Service due to a cancer scare but then started charging up to £4,000 a time as an after dinner speaker talking about his work with the Royal Family.

Kidd also starred on numerous TV chat shows in the UK and USA including the Caroline Rhea show in New York.

He also appeared on stage with Hollywood actor Robin Williams at the Nemacolin Spa & Resort Centre in the USA.

He joined Robert Kilroy Silk’s UK Independence party standing unsuccessfully as a candidate in local council elections.

In one interview Kidd said of the Queen: “She deals with people in a genuinely caring manner. Her children are the future of the country, they cannot be brought up in a namby-pamby manner. But in private, as a mother and grandmother, she dotes on the children.”

Police began investigating Kidd earlier this year after a victim, now 47 read a newspaper article about Kidd in which he talked about Princess Diana on the 10th anniversary of her death.

The victim was thought to be so disgusted by his bragging, he went to police and told officers how he was 14 when he was abused by Paul Kidd after meeting him through a CB radio group.

Kidd introduced the lad to the royal household and took him for tea with the Queen Mother in the late 70s.
Paul Kidd will be released from prison in 2014, that’s to say if he hasn’t been already.

THE QUEEN MEETS DAVID CAMERON TO PLAN THEIR NEXT MOVE.

With time of the essence, the Queen has broken royal protocol and met David Cameron in Chequers to plan their next more.

Faced with increasing calls for their arrest, having been found guilty of Crimes against Humanity by an International Common Law court in Brussels last year, the Queen and her husband enjoyed an intimate, private lunch where they were served a starter of Scottish smoked salmon and a main course of lamb with potatoes and vegetables followed by bread and butter pudding with ice cream and cheese and biscuits.

Eating from the pig’s trough while they can.

Other guests included:
  • Ex-head of MI5 Baroness Manningham-Buller.
  • Lord Guthrie, the former head of the armed forces.
  • Writer William Shawcross, the Queen Mother’s official biographer.
  • Mrs Shawcross.
  • The designer and hotelier Olga Polizzi.
Thus the joke goes, what has a queen, prime minister, spy, general, writer, his wife and hotelier got in common? Secrets!

Mr. Cameron decided to extend the invitation to the Queen at his grace and favour home after stumbling upon some photographs of the Queen’s previous visits to Chequers over the years including pictures of the Queen and Richard Nixon in the gardens of the country house in 1970.
One wonders whether the photographs in question were off a similar nature found by two bank robbers in 1971.

As Greg Hallett exposes:

“Princess Margaret, had a sexual liaison with two West Indian men at the same time, and that was  photographed and it was kept in a Lloyds Bank vault, and that bank vault was raided on the 11th of September 1971, when a gang robbed the Lloyds Bank in London, and they actually produced photos of Princess Margaret having sex with two West Indian men, and then it was Lord Louis Mountbatten who was asked to come forward, and he brought the bank robbers new identities, new passports, and they were allowed to keep the money, and they were allowed to escape out of England without harassment.”

ImageThe Queen protects her paedophile PM’s, as much as she dotes on her children.

According to Buckingham Palace, the Queen has visited Chequers just twice during her reign so far.

Her first visit was in October 1970 when she joined the then, PM Edward Heath and US president Richard Nixon.

One Hell of a threesome, a gay murdering paedophile, a swindler and a Queen! Perhaps these were the photographs which David Cameron found, which brought the royal party scampering.

It has since been confirmed from the testimony of Michael Shrimpton, an establishment whistle blower and barrister, that Edward Heath was a serial paedophile and murderer, who killed his victims and threw their bodies overboard his yacht.

The meeting appears to be so serious, the Queen was forced to take the unprecedented decision to break short her holiday at Balmoral to attend this make or break lunch.

A visit by the Queen to the Prime Minister’s official country residence Chequers is a rare occasion. She has not been to the house near Ellesborough in Buckinghamshire for 18 years.
There were no trips under Gordon Brown, Tony Blair or Margaret Thatcher, but the Queen paid a visit when Sir John Major was Prime Minister in 1996.

'Full military coup' underway in Egypt, tanks & APCs seen on streets

A military coup is underway in Egypt, according to Mohamed Morsi's national security adviser and a Muslim Brotherhood spokesperson. Security forces have placed a travel ban on Morsi and a number of top Brotherhood officials, according to AFP sources.

Several hundred Egyptian soldiers, together with armored vehicles, are taking part in a military parade on the road near presidential palace, a witness told Reuters. Live images from Sky News Arabia show army tanks in several Cairo neighborhoods.

National security adviser Essam El-Haddad said that "no military coup can succeed in the face of sizeable popular force without considerable bloodshed." He added that he expects army and police violence to remove pro-Mursi demonstrators from the streets of Cairo.
A presidential aide said in a statement that Morsi is still working at the Republican Guard barracks in Cairo and it is unclear if he is free to leave. He added that Morsi's message to all Egyptians is to resist the military coup peacefully without using violence.

Morsi has offered a consensus government as a way out of the country's crisis, but offered no new compromises. The leader has refused to step down, and instructed the military not to "take sides."
The proposed coalition government would include a Prime Minister elected by political powers, according to a presidential statement. The statement added that "the scenario that some parties are trying to impose is rejected by the people."
The military ultimatum given to President Mohamed Morsi has come and gone, as hundreds of thousands of people take to the streets. Morsi previously rejected the deadline, which gave him 48 hours to meet the demands of the people before facing army intervention.
Just before the afternoon deadline imposed by the military expired, Morsi again rejected army intervention. The leader said that abiding by his electoral legitimacy was the only way to prevent violence. He criticized the military for "taking only one side."
"One mistake that cannot be accepted, and I say this as president of all Egyptians, is to take sides,"Morsi said in a  statement issued by his office. "Justice dictates that the voice of the masses from all squares should be heard."
The meeting between Commander-In-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Abdul Fatah Khalil Al-Sisi, and political forces is still ongoing, Al Arabiya reports. The most important issue being discussed is reportedly that of sending reassuring messages to the Brotherhood's leaders.
The two sides seem unwilling to budge, with protesters stating that Morsi and his Brotherhood party are pushing an Islamist agenda on Egypt.
The Tamarod movement has called on Egyptians to take to the streets and squares immediately, and to listen to the army's speech.

The Brotherhood says the army’s actions amount to a coup and says that its members are ready to become martyrs to defend the president.

"We will not allow the will of the Egyptian people to be bullied again by the military machine."

Morsi believes it would be better to die “standing like a tree,” defending the electoral legitimacy of his office, than to go down in history as having destroyed Egyptians’ hopes for democracy, presidential spokesperson Ayman Ali said, as quoted by Reuters.

Army sources had previously said the army would issue a statement after the deadline expires at about 5 p.m. (1500 GMT) but no time has yet been set for official statements, according to the Facebook page of Egyptian military spokesman Col. Ahmad Muhammad Ali.
At least 39 people have died since anti-Morsi protests began on Sunday. A night of deadly clashes in Cairo on Tuesday night claimed the lives of 23 people, most of whom died in a single incident near Cairo University.
