The legend of King Arthur is alive and kicking in the forthcoming Netflix adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s Warlord Chronicles depicting his interpretation of King Arthur.
Following on from the success of The Last Kingdom series, Netflix is taking the plunge, where so many film studios have followed.
The last big Hollywood production of a King Arthur movie was "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword," directed by Guy Ritchie and released in 2017. The film was originally meant to be the first in a six-film franchise, but the project was eventually dropped by Warner Bros. due to concerns about the profitability of the actors.
Taking on the mantle of King Arthur next are ITVX, adapting Cornwell’s Warlord Chronicles for the small screen.
Consisting of Enemy of the God, Excalibur and The Winter King making up the chronicles, Cornwell brings a more gritty, realistic and authenticity to the story, which other productions of King Arthur fail to deliver.
