What's Next for Philip Schofield?

Philip Schofield has left ITV's This Morning "with immediate effect" after more than 20 years of hosting the flagship daytime show. His sudden departure follows weeks of speculation about a feud between himself and co-presenter Holly Willoughby, and comes after Schofield's brother Timothy was sentenced to 12 years in jail for child sexual abuse. It is unclear what the future holds for Schofield, but his departure from the show marks the end of an era for one of the UK's most beloved TV presenters. In this article, we will explore the events that led up to Schofield's departure and what might be next for him in his career, plus his special friendship with Simon Schofield (no relation).

Has Philip Schofield been Grooming Teenage Boys for the last 21 years?

Does Philip Schofield quitting reveal something bigger lurking in the shadows, ready to explode across our tabloid front pages to devastating effect upon Schofield’s career and reputation?

What is in store for Philip Schofield?

A 12 year prison sentence for his brother, reveals a connection to a now convicted paedophile.

Convicted on 11 sexual offences between 2016 - 2019, Timothy Schofield, 54, worked as civilian police staff at Avon and Somerset Police.

Throwing his devoted brother under the bus, Phillip Schofield said after the conviction: "As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother."

Passing sentence, Mrs Justice Cutts said Tim Schofield exploited his victim's innocence for his own sexual gratification.

This is now levelled against Philip Schofield, in relation to his Matthew McGreevy grooming allegations, set to explode upon the tabloid front pages.

And of-course, with the minimal amount of research, we now come to realise that Matthew McGreevy wasn’t the first teenager Philip Schofield groomed.

When the news of the feud between Philip and Holly first started reaching the tabloid pages, who did Philip run to?

Simon Schofield (no relation.)

This is the same Simon Schofield who Matthew McGreevy described as his mentor.

As a member of The 2 Faced Theatre Academy, the then 18 year old McGreevy was invited to the London studios by the academy’s patron Phillip Schofield, where he got to chat with Holly Willoughby and watch the programme go out live.

McGreevy said: “I couldn’t believe how everything was done so quickly and I learnt a lot from Philip Schofield.”

“I am very new to TV, and I am always learning. I have learnt a lot from The 2 faced Theatre Academy and they have opened many doors for me. I would like to thank my mentor- Simon Schofield for all his support and help.”

Which is where we are first introduced to Simon Schofield…

The same Simon Schofield who Philip Schofield leaned heavily on for support amidst his sacking from the This Morning show.

Described as being Philip’s “rock,” Simon Schofield is a lawyer and PR expert, plus a singer and actor.

According to the journalistic research of The Daily Mail we learn that Philip Schofield now aged 61, and Simon Schofield now aged 38, first worked together during the early part of their careers and kept in close contact ever since.

Philip and Simon Schofield (no relation)

  • Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987 (23 himself, starting out at the BBC)
  • Going Live! (1987–1993)

It would be at this stage of his career, aged 40 (2001), that Philip Schofield would be starting his friendship/relationship with Simon Schofield.

  • BBC National Lottery Winning Lines 2001 - 2004
  • All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016)
  • The Cube (2009–2015, 2020–present)

Doing the maths, and calculating their 23 year age difference! Philip would have been 40 years old, starting a friendship with a 17 year old teenager.

Philip himself admits to having known Simon for 20 years, a year younger than McGreevy when he was invited on This Morning Show.

An extract from the Daily Mail news article - link above

After a follower queried whether there was a deeper meaning to his use of the term 'mate', Phillip hit back: 'Yes! A mate! That's what they still call family friends who you've known for 20 years and come round to check if you're OK.'

Baring in mind the track record of the BBC for nurturing paedophiles, thinking of the obvious big names such as Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris and Stewart Hall, Philip Schofield’s name will now be added to the ever growing list of offenders, hiding in plain sight at the British Broadcasting Corporation, more affectionately known as the BBC to you and I…..

Do you remember when Philip Schofield handed PM David Cameron a list of names of politicians alleged to be perpetrators of child abuse?

Cameron warned accusations of paedophilia risk creating a witch-hunt, particularly against gay people.
